What would it be like to grow up with Jesus - as kids in the same neighborhood? I don't think I would have liked Him. The Bible teaches Jesus is both God and human, 100% each. I like to win. You play hide and seek. How could He lose?
The Bible also teaches that we're to fear God and depend on His love (Ps 33:18). Being afraid of the one who loves you - odd eh?
This week we learn about a King that tried to hide from God in a suitcase (1 Sam 10). Hide and Seek with God isn't bright, but this king had some of the same problems I do. Knowing God isn't the same as fearing Him. Knowing He loves us isn't the same as depending on it. How do we take the step from knowing God to fearing and depending on Him?
Lord willing we will get to some answers Sunday so He won't count to 10 and find us in unclaimed baggage.
